Mastering PHAB Standards and Measures — 2026 Edition

Achieving PHAB accreditation requires more than knowing what the standards say. Accreditation Coordinators must be able to interpret what each measure is intended to accomplish, determine what evidence will demonstrate compliance, and assess whether the health department’s documentation is strong enough for PHAB review.

This training provides a practical, competency-based approach to working with the PHAB Standards and Measures, 2026 Edition. Rather than focusing on memorization, learners will practice applying the standards to real accreditation work—from identifying documentation owners and evaluating existing evidence to closing documentation gaps and determining overall readiness for submission.

By the end of the training, learners will be better prepared to:

• Understand the structure and requirements of PHAB Standards and Measures.
• Interpret the intent behind individual measures and Required Documentation.
• Select documentation that appropriately demonstrates conformity with PHAB requirements.
• Evaluate documentation for relevance, completeness, clarity, and quality.
• Identify the appropriate owners and contributors for required documentation.
• Conduct systematic documentation gap analyses.
• Plan and coordinate the development or strengthening of missing documentation.
• Assess the health department’s readiness for accreditation review.

The goal is to move learners from simply reading the standards to confidently managing the accreditation evidence process—knowing what PHAB is asking for, where the evidence should come from, what strong documentation looks like, and what must be addressed before submission.
